2025 NPB All-Star Game Player Voting Results
Tyler Austin makes the cut, but the Swallows and Marines are still waiting
NPB has announced the results of the player voting for this year’s All-Star Game. Introduced in 2008, this system allows players to vote for those they believe are most deserving of a spot in the game. The player with the most votes at each position from both the Central and Pacific Leagues will earn a spot in the All-Star Game series. If the same player receives both the top fan vote and the top player vote, the second-place player is not selected, and the manager’s pick will fill that spot instead. You can find the results of the player vote here.
Central League
The most notable addition is Tyler Austin from the Yokohama BayStars. The former Yankee has battled injuries for most of the season, batting .211/.295/.330, but was the CL’s batting champion last season with a .316 average.
The star indicates players that were also chosen by the fans.

Rui Muneyama was a first-round draft pick for Rakuten last year, while Watanabe, selected by both fans and players, was chosen in the second round. Yamakawa* might be one of the most controversial players in Japan, but his teammates seem to hold him in high regard.
*Yamakawa was accused of sexual assault in May 2023. His team at the time, the Seibu Lions, swiftly removed him from the roster. In August 2023, the Tokyo District Prosecutor's Office decided not to press charges. However, Seibu still imposed an indefinite suspension on him the following week. Yamakawa would later exercise his free-agent rights and sign with SoftBank in the offseason.

After fan and player votes, only the Yakult Swallows and Chiba Lotte Marines remain without a representative. Injuries and poor performances have certainly contributed to this, with both teams sitting at the bottom of their respective leagues. The Swallows' big star, Munetaka Murakami, has only played in one game, and the team lacks standout performers. The Marines, however, have a couple of promising players in Terachi and Fujiwara to consider. The final rosters will be announced on the 7th. Stay tuned.
