2025 NPB All-Star Rosters

More than half the rosters are making their All-Star debut

It says: “Announcement of the participating members, including the managers’ selections!”

NPB has announced the participating players for this year’s All-Star Games in Osaka and Yokohama. Each team will have 30 players, with players determined by fan vote, player vote, and manager selection. The managers for the All-Star Game are the managers of the previous season’s pennant winners, which in Japan means the team that finished the regular season with the best record. For the Central League, that means Shinnosuke Abe of the Yomiuri Giants, and for the Pacific League, Hiroki Kokubo of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The remainder of the coaching staff consists of the managers from the 2nd and 3rd place teams.

Central League

All I could find was this list of names for the Central League.

Joining Abe are Kyuji Fujikawa of the Hanshin Tigers and Daisuke Miura of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. The Swallows, the only CL team without a representative in the fan and player votes, will be represented by veteran reliever Taichi Ishiyama—who notably struck out Shohei Ohtani in the 2013 All-Star Game.

Joining Kokubo on the coaching staff are Tsuyoshi Shinjo of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and Masato Yoshii of the Chiba Lotte Marines. Kokubo has selected two players from the last-place Marines: teenage catcher Ryusei Terachi and newly emerged closer, Shunsuke Nakamori.

Hanshin leads the way with 8 total players, followed by the Giants, Buffaloes, and Lions, each with 7. Of the 60 total players, 31 are All-Stars for the first time. With so many fresh faces this year, and two games in total, there will be plenty of opportunities to shine on the national stage. Who are you excited to see?

The final players, one for each league, will be decided by fans through the 'Plus One Vote.' Voting runs from July 8th to July 14th, with the winning players announced on July 16th. Fans will also vote for the players who will appear in the Home Run Derby.
